The Judge Movie Release Date, Reveals and Review: Movie Selected to Open for the Toronto Film Festival
Hollywood's (not so new) darling Robert Downing Junior is at it again, this time in Warner Brother's and the actors own Team Downey Production Company's The Judge. This time Mr. Downey has trades in his red metal suit for a more conventional one. He pairs up with Robert Duvall, Downey Jr. Plays a Chicago lawyer who comes home for his mother's funeral and finds his estranged father (a.k.a The Judge) is suspected of murder. Downey sets out to find the truth, reconnecting with his father in the process. The movie, shot in Massachusetts, is set for an October 10th 2014 release.
According to Downey the movie is 'a modern tale of conflict, judgment, death, regret, irony, family, dysfunction, hilarity and of course unconditional love'. The much anticipated Village Roadshow flick has been chosen as the opening night film for the Toronto film festival which is commences on September 4th. The highly anticipated flick is expected to be the Oscar winner clincher Mr. Downey's. The Golden statue has evaded the talented actor despite putting in sterling performances in all three Iron Man movies and both Sherlock Holmes flicks.
The movie comes with a formidable cast and Crew. Apart from Mr. Downey's impressive performance as Iron Man which has improved his pay grade immensely, Robert Duvall is an actor director known for his outstanding performances in all time classics like Apocalypse Now, Godfather one and two, to kill a mockingbird and Gone in 60 seconds. The screen writer Nick Schenk had his work for Gran Torino named 'Best Screenplay' by the National Board of Review. Finally, director David Dobkin is coming with rich experience from flicks like The Wedding Crashers, R.I.P.D, Shanghai Knights and Jack the Giant Slayer. This combined portfolio is bound to give us a movie for the history books. So set a reminder for October 10th and expect an award winning performance.
