The Cinderella 2015 release date has finally been revealed. As confirmed by Walt Disney Pictures, this upcoming unique adaptation of the classic fairy tale is scheduled to hit theatres on March 13, 2015. The Cinderella 2015 trailer has also been made available for public viewing by the studio. As revealed, the titular character will be played by Lily James (who is most well known for her role as Lady Rose MacClare in the drama Downtown Abbey). She will be playing Ella, a young orphaned princess who lives with her cruel stepmother and two evil stepsisters (as the usual story goes). Meanwhile, Game of Thrones' Rob Stark, Richard Madden, will also play alongside her as Kit, the kind-hearted and humble Prince Charming.
As implied by the movie's director Kenneth Branagh (My Week with Marilyn, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets), the Cinderella 2015 film will be adhering to the original 1967 plot by Charles Perrault. Although it is not without a unique, modern day twist: MoviePilot reveals that the Cinderella 2015 film will be told from the perspective, this time, of none other than the prince himself - very unusual from the classic/ typical fairy tale.
Also shown in the Cinderella 2015 trailer are other actors to be expected in the film including Cate Blanchett, who will be portraying Lady Tremaine the wicked stepmom, as well as Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother, among others.
