Sean Feucht Pushes Forward With Canadian Tour Amid Cancellations, Protests, and Growing Crowds

Despite multiple venue cancellations, protests, and heightened security concerns, American worship leader and activist Sean Feucht continues to draw large crowds across Canada as his cross-country "Kingdom to Canada" tour moves into its Western leg this August.
Earlier in July, six permits for public performances in Halifax, Charlottetown, Moncton, Gatineau, Quebec City, and Vaughan were revoked by local authorities citing public safety risks and violations of community conduct standards. Parks Canada notably canceled Feucht's concert at York Redoubt National Historic Site in Halifax on July 22. The cancellations came after protests and mounting criticism over Feucht's outspoken opposition to abortion and LGBTQ+ rights, positions he says are rooted in his Christian faith.
In response, Feucht held alternative gatherings in private venues, including a farmer's field near Shubenacadie, NS, and local churches. In Montreal, a last-minute church concert drew protests, and the hosting venue was fined CAD 2,500 for lacking a proper permit. Despite the opposition, Feucht's events have been attended by thousands, with Toronto's Mel Lastman Square seeing some of the largest crowds of the tour on July 27-28.
"We've seen God move powerfully in Canada, even when doors closed," said Feucht. "The hunger for worship and revival here is undeniable."
The tour now heads west, with upcoming dates scheduled in Winnipeg (Aug 20), Saskatoon (Aug 21), Edmonton (Aug 22), West Kelowna (Aug 23), and Abbotsford (Aug 24). Officials in West Kelowna and Abbotsford are currently reviewing permits and security plans in light of the recent controversies.
The tour has ignited a nationwide conversation around freedom of expression, religious liberty, and public safety. While critics argue that public venues should not host performers accused of spreading divisive messages, supporters contend that canceling the events amounts to censorship of Christian worship.
