Boardwalk Empire Season 5 will be the final season in the highly acclaimed HBO Prohibition era-set crime drama television series. The Boardwalk Empire Season 5 premiere, entitled "Golden Days for Boys and Girls," will air on September 7, 2014, a Sunday. It will be followed by eight weekly serial episodes. The season finale is scheduled for October 26 showing.
Boardwalk Empire Season 5 takes off seven years following the events which transpired during Season 4. In an exclusive by Den of Geeks, actor Michael K. Williams, who plays Albert 'Chalky' White' on the series, revealed, "The storyline has jumped seven years [into the future], which is why I have the beard now. The Depression has set in. The days of the shiny shoes and fancy suits are long gone...It ended very badly for Chalky last year. His family life is no more, and he is desperately seeking Dr. Narcisse to settle old scores."
Boardwalk Empire Season 5 cast, aside from Williams, include Steve Buscemi as Nucky Thompson, Kelly MacDonald as Margaret Thompson, Michael Shannon as Nelson Van Alden/George Mueller, Shea Wigham as Eli Thompson, Michael Stuhlbarg as Arnold Rothstein, Stephen Graham as Al Capone, Vincent Piazza as Charlie Luciano, Paul Sparks as Mickey Doyle, Jeffrey Wright as Dr. Valentin Narcisse, Gretchen Mol as Gillian Darmody, and Ben Rosenfield as Willie Thompson.
