Acclaimed singer-songwriter and frontman of multi-platinum Christian rock band Stryper, Michael Sweet, has released his new single "Lord," the second preview from his upcoming solo album The Master Plan, set for release on April 3, 2026 via Frontiers Music Srl. The album is currently available for pre-order.
With heartfelt lyrics and strong spiritual themes, The Master Plan is described as Sweet's most personal and spiritually resonant solo project to date - designed to inspire peace, faith, and encouragement while offering music that comforts the weary and uplifts the spirit.
Co-produced by Sweet alongside Jeff Savage, known for work with artists including TobyMac, Jars of Clay, and Natalie Imbruglia, the deeply worship-inspired album marks a notable shift from Sweet's earlier solo work. Blending heartfelt devotion with fresh musical textures and melodic depth, the record highlights a more reflective and worship-focused side of the veteran rocker.
The release of "Lord" follows January's debut of the album's title track, which introduced listeners to the project's acoustic-leaning arrangements and spiritually centered message.
Best known for his role as frontman of Stryper - widely recognized for its distinctive brand of "heavenly metal" and decades of global success - Sweet has helped shape Christian rock music with over ten million albums sold worldwide and multiple Billboard charting hits. Beyond his work with Stryper, Sweet has also maintained a successful solo career, co-founded the rock project Sweet & Lynch, and previously served as vocalist and guitarist for classic rock icons Boston between 2007 and 2011.
Musically rich and lyrically uplifting, The Master Plan features ten tracks, including "Lord," "Stronger," and "Worship You," and is positioned as a project intended to encourage listeners through moments of prayer, praise, and reflection.
The new single "Lord" is now available on digital streaming platforms, with the full album arriving April 3, 2026.
