Acclaimed rock band Switchfoot has officially announced their long-awaited new studio album, FOREVER NOW, arriving June 26. The San Diego rock quintet is giving fans a first taste of the project with the upcoming lead single "Wake Up, Mr. Crow," scheduled for release Friday, March 27.

Frontman Jon Foreman shared a reflective message about the themes behind the new music, exploring the tension between everyday life and the inevitability of mortality.

"We celebrate the firsts in our lives-our first breath, our first words, our first steps," Foreman said. "But the last ones? These moments are mostly unknown. We only see them in the rearview mirror."

The singer explained that memories of friends who have passed away inspired deeper reflection on how people live their lives and the things left unsaid.

"I have several friends on the other side of the grave and I can distinctly remember the last day we saw each other," he wrote. "When I look back, I think of the many things I wish I would've said or a moment I wish I could have back."

According to Foreman, the new single "Wake Up, Mr. Crow" functions as a kind of wake-up call-an "alarm clock of a song" confronting listeners with the urgency of life amid the confusion of modern culture. The track paints a vivid picture of an ordinary morning filled with existential questions.

"Rise and shine / The morning sun like a warning sign," Foreman writes, describing a character navigating traffic, inner turmoil, and the competing voices of modern life. Referencing music from bands like Radiohead and Pixies, the song blends cultural commentary with introspective questions about identity and purpose.

"The traffic around him mirrors the traffic within," Foreman explains. "The true fight is the inner fight... Who are you? What's worth living for?"

The forthcoming album FOREVER NOW continues Switchfoot's tradition of thoughtful, spiritually resonant rock, building on a career that has produced numerous chart-topping songs and a devoted global fanbase. Known for hits such as Dare You to Move and Meant to Live, the band has consistently blended philosophical reflection with arena-sized alternative rock.

Fans can pre-save "Wake Up, Mr. Crow" now, ahead of its March 27 release, as anticipation builds for the full album arriving June 26.

FOREVER NOW promises to explore themes of time, mortality, identity, and hope-continuing Switchfoot's legacy of music that challenges listeners to live with intention.
