Parenthood Season 6 Premiere, Renewal, Spoilers And Episode News: Parenthood Renewed For A Sixth Season Which Will Be The Final Season Of The Series

The upcoming season 6 will be the final season of the much loved and watched series. More to this, Jason Katims, the showrunner, confirmed that the series would end in a central storyline which will have an impact on all the adults in the series.
Although the upcoming season will only have 13 episodes, Jason Katims says that he is very happy and excited that the show was given the chance to have a final season. In a recent interview with TV Guide, he said, "I'm very happy to know that it's the final season because we can give it an ending and hopefully do these episodes in a way that will give the show the ending it deserves."
Jason also revealed that unlike the final seasons of other dramas, this one will be more catharsis in nature. He said, "In every other season, you're trying to balance out the catharsis with cliff-hangers. The final season, you don't really need a cliff-hanger, you need catharsis." He also dropped some hints about the storyline of the upcoming season. The executive producer said, "We wanted to have a strong central story that would bring everybody together, that would touch everybody in the show. I felt like the one thing that was sort of similar was [Kristina's] breast cancer story line in season 4, but I think that this one has the weight of that, but will actually even be more impactful on the entire cast."
Nevertheless, Katims did not disclose any details about the main storyline which would bring the entire family together. He said that one of the things that he feels about the show is about the generations in a family. The "Parenthood" fans may also expect the return of some recurring characters for example Haddie, a role taken by Sarah Ramos. Katims said, "We're hoping she'll be able to come back for the first episode of the season, and we're hoping some time later in the season she'll come back." The good news is that the Parenthood season 6 is scheduled to premiere on 25th September on NBC.
