Avengers Age of Ultron Release Date: Plot Details Revealed
Some plot details have been revealed by executive producer Kevin Fiege for the highly anticipated Avengers sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron.
In an interview by ecunews.com come, Fiege explained," Last time we saw Stark Tower, from The Avengers, it had gotten beat up a little bit thanks to Hulk and thanks to Loki and the Chituari, and Pepper and Tony were standing over a table looking at plans." He continued, "That's where we pulled out and all the letters had fallen away except the 'A' in Stark. So what they were doing was retro-fitting for The Avengers. And that's what we see in this next film. S.H.I.E.L.D. is gone - for people who are following along. S.H.I.E.L.D. was disbanded and brought down at the end of The Winter Soldier because it turned out to not be the best organization ever. So Tony's bank-rolling The Avengers now. And he's bank-rolling their headquarters. So it's now Avengers Tower." This would be the cinematic version of the comics' Avengers Mansion.
With 2012's hit, The Avengers, avid comic book fans and movie goers were also introduced to Mark Ruffalo as Dr. Bruce Banner/Hulk. Undoubtedly, Hulk has become a fan favorite since the film's success, and so fans started speculating on a stand-alone Hulk film. Kevin Feige was also asked about a stand-alone Hulk film and he was pretty unsure, saying," It's exciting, because he hasn't been in any other film, so you can expect to have a lot of Bruce Banner and Hulk in Age of Ultron. Where we go after that? We'll see. It will be a little while before we figure that out but, we do think there's plenty of opportunities with the Ruffalo Banner."
In an interview with NerdHQ at San Diego Comic-Con, director Joss Whedon opened up about the involvement of the character of Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier in Age of Ultron, saying "The fact is, Ultron is a clear and present danger and Bucky's in the wind. We do mention the fact that that's his sort of primary thing, but he's also working with The Avengers too. We're not ignoring it, but he definitely has to deal with a mad eight foot robot, because that's one of those things that you put it off and it just gets worse."
Avengers: Age of Ultron will feature new cast members Aaron Taylor Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen as 'Miracle' twins Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, and James Spader as the voice of the antagonist Ultron.
Filming has finished for the film and is currently in post-production.
Age of Ultron will hit theaters May 1, 2015.
