According to IGN, a developer of the very popular sandbox game in the 4J studios has announced through their twitter account that the PlayStation 4 version of 'Minecraft' is ready, which only means that it will be released soon, may be even this month. The developer tweeted, "We've handed Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition over to Sony for the final test."

For the versions of Playstation Vita and Xbox One, it seems we have to wait longer as 4J studios say that they have to deal with the bugs that have come up. The developer said that the fans should wait for an update on the status of the other versions in the near future. In the recent past, it had been rumored that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Minecraft would be released on 19^th August but with the recent developments, it seems that only the PS4 version will be released. The developer also commented on some rumors that have been going round that 4J will not be upgrading the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. He clarified that the rumors were not true and that the fans should ignore them.

For those who are unfamiliar with the 'Minecraft game', it is about world creation by breaking and building 3-D blocks. The activities of the game include exploration, gathering of resources, crafting and combat. Epoch Times reports that the next-gen version of the game will have new and bigger worlds than the earlier versions. It also reported that the older generation consoles, i.e. Xbox 360 and PS3, may be shifted to the next-gen consoles.
