H1Z1 Release Date, Gameplay, and Review: New Developments Are Revealed about Gameplay as Sony Prepares for PS4 Beta Version and Steam Early Access

The release date for H1Z1 has been revealed at the Gamescom 2014 event slated for October 2015 while the Steam early access as well as PS4 beta version will soon be available online. H1Z1 is an ultimate zombie survival game featuring a multiplayer online setup for PS4 as well as PC modes. Sony Online Entertainment has set the game context to be within the United States when a zombie apocalypse happens and the players have to survive against the elements and the carnivorous zombies. They do this by collaborating, building shelters and weapons as well as offense and defense strategies.

There are various aspects of the game-play which have been revealed however. For example, the game is said to feature dynamic weather patterns. It might be sunny or rainy one day and snowy the next. Here is where it gets interesting as the weather conditions will actually have an effect on the players themselves. For example, those players that have dressed lightly during a snowstorm for example, will have a bigger chance of dying. Apparently, the elements will affect player health and ability to survive. Add this to an unpredictable weather situation will increase the overall survival challenge.

The other aspect of the game is that one will start the game with nothing. One gets an axe and flashlights which they can use to hunt animals and combine with other survivors to build shelters and avoid the zombies. They will also have to search for weapons and food and accumulate weapons. The other thing is that one will have access to vehicles which they can use to raid the infested warehouses and they can use them to run over the bloodthirsty zombies. Sony Online Entertainment also maintains that the H1Z1 game is not anything like Day Z from Bohemia interactive. The game still has a ways to go before release as Sony published a breakdown of goals they want to accomplish before the CEO gives a go ahead for release via the Steam Early Access.
