According to Billboard data reported by Forbes on September 16, "I Just Might" spent a 35th week atop the Hot R&B Songs chart, breaking its tie with Leon Thomas's "Mutt" to become the second-longest-running No. 1 in that chart's history. The song, the lead single from Mars's 2026 album "The Romantic," also holds at No. 1 on the related Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for a 28th week.
"I Just Might" has now spent more time at No. 1 on Hot R&B Songs than any other song in Mars's catalog, surpassing hits like "Uptown Funk!" and "That's What I Like." It also continues to close in on the all-time record on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, currently held by Kendrick Lamar and SZA's "Luther" at 31 weeks - a mark Mars could match if the song holds its position for a few more weeks.
The single, released January 9, 2026, marked Mars's return to solo music after a decade largely spent on collaborations, including chart-topping hits like "Die With a Smile" with Lady Gaga and "APT." with Rosé.
