London Has Fallen Latest News, Release Date: The follow up to Olympus Has Fallen, this Time Involving an MI-6 Agent, Hitting Theaters October 2015

 The Olympus Has Fallen sequel is entitled London Has Fallen and it will be directed by Frederick Bond who will be taking over from the first movie's director Antoine Fuqua. The original's lead cast of Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Angela Bassett, Radha Mitchell and Morgan Freeman will be returning to reprise their roles as Secret Service agent Mike Banning, US President Benjamin Asher, Secret Service Director Lynn Jacobs, Leah Banning and Speaker Trumbull, respectively. Christian Gudegast wrote the script for the sequel. Focus Features which acquired the distribution rights to London Has Fallen is aiming to start filming this October to be in time for a planned October 2, 2015 release date.

According to Digital Spy, the sequel will see US president (Eckhart), secret service agent (Butler) and speaker of the US House of Representatives (Freeman) attending the funeral of the British prime minister following his death under mysterious circumstances.  However, the funeral, a must-attend event for world leaders, turns into a terrorist plot to get them all in one place for a mass assassination that will bring about a change in the world order. Only three people can stop the sinister plot: the US President, Secret Service Agent Banning, and an MI-6 agent who trusts no one, Empire further revealed.

London Has Fallen is produced by Gerard Butler with Alan Siegel, Mark Gill and Matt O'Toole. Focus Features CEO Peter Schlessel and Millenium Films' Avi Lerner will executive produce with Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, John Thompson and Christine Crow according to The Wrap
