The Good Wife Season 6 Premiere, Latest News: Taye Diggs, Carrie Preston as Recurring Guests and So Much More!
The Good Wife premiere episode for Season 6 will air September 21, at its regular 9:00-10:00 PM Sunday time slot on CBS. On what may happen next season, series co-creator Robert King, in a TVLine interview, said, "We love changing the status quo. But there were two big status quo changes this year. One is the breakup of the firm, then Will's death. And you never know, when you change it to a new world, into a new status quo, whether its going to hold up to the old one."
Taye Diggs will be a recurring guest star in Season 6 of the acclaimed hit CBS TV legal and political drama, "The Good Wife," according to E!News. He will play the character of "Dean Levine-Wilkin," an equity partner at Lockhart/Gardner who joins Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) at Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) and Cary's (Matt Czuchry) Florick/Agos new law firm. Diggs describes his character as "meticulous" and "talented."
Co-creators Robert and Michelle King welcomed the addition of Diggs to the cast of "The Good Wife." In a statement, they said, "We couldn't be more excited to have Taye on the show. We've been huge fans for years, and love his ability to play comedy and drama with equal ease." Diggs is best remembered for his roles in the Broadway musical "Rent," the movies "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" and "The Best Man" and the TV series "Private Practice."
Steven Pasquale will also be joining the cast for a two-episode arc as "Elfman," one of the top campaign managers in the country who Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) is trying to convince to run Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) possible campaign as State Attorney according to Deadline. Pasquale was a Drama Desk Award nominee for his starring role in The Bridges Of Madison County on Broadway.
"True Blood" starrer Carrie Preston, who won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of "Elsbeth Tascioni," a deceptively ditzy but brilliant lawyer, will once more guest in next season of "The Good Wife." She earlier told TVLine, "Right now they are talking to me about coming back for another two episodes. I would love to go back. I would love to be there full-time. If it were up to me, I would." In a later post at CBS, it's been confirmed that she would. "Your favorite brilliant and quirky lawyer is back," says the studio, "and we can't wait to see what comedic entrance Elsbeth has this time!"
