Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is currently filming and the first photos from set are starting to surface. Last week, we got to see Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne and now we get our first look at Henry Cavill in full Superman outfit on location in Detroit (see picture above) thanks to (@mtvsplashpage).
They officially moved up the release date for the movie by two months! Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was originally slated for a May 6, 2016 release, the movie is now set to hit theaters on March 25, 2016, according to Deadline.
The new movie Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice doesn't release until 2016, but fans are anxious to hear any news they can about the upcoming film. We know that the cast stars are set as Ben Affleck (Batman) and Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Superman). Also cast for the movie are Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth), Tao Okamoto (Luther's assistant, Mercy Graves), and Holly Hunter (U.S. Senator).
Warner Bros. studios have also announced that they will be using the Nashville skyline's AT&T building (formerly the Bell South building), known as the 'Batman building' to locals, to double as the headquarters of Wayne Enterprises in the upcoming film Batman vs. Superman. Matt Hagen, a representative of DC stated, "Using the AT&T building is a natural choice to represent Wayne Enterprises in Batman vs. Superman. It's unique design reinforces the subtlety in storytelling that director Zack Snyder is widely known for." Snyder also shared, "I'm not sure how much time will be spent shooting in the Nashville area, but I can safely say that the city will fare much better than Metropolis did!"
It has also been determined that parts of the new Batman vs. Superman movie will be shot in the greater Detroit, Michigan area in Lapeer County. The Pure Michigan film office says the filming will be taking place at the old Girl Scout camp outside the Metamora Township village. Township officials granted a building permit at the camp in January for temporary structures to be built and then demolished. Some speculate a cabin is being built on the site to serve as Bruce Wayne's cottage and possibly an entrance to the Batcave. The camp looks pretty desolate, no real signs of life, but neighbors said they have seen trucks coming in and out carrying supplies.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an upcoming American superhero film featuring the DC Comics characters Superman and Batman and is the intended sequel to 2013's Man of Steel and the second installment in the DC Cinematic Universe. The mo vie is directed by Zack Snyder, written by Chris Terrio, from a story by Snyder and David S. Goyer.
The sequel was announced at 2013 San Diego Comic Con International, after the release of Man of Steel. Snyder and Goyer were both brought back in June 2013. Pre-production began at East Los Angeles College in October 2013, with principal photography starting in May 2014 in Detroit, Michigan.
