House of Cards Season 3 Premiere, Latest News May Air February; To Guest Jailed Pussy Riot Members?
Netflix' House of Cards Season 3, all 13 hours of the entire season, may air by February or early next year according to an estimate made by Enstarz. Based on the information that a season of the series takes seven months to film, as revealed by show creator Beau Willimon in an interview with Variety, and considering that filming for Season 3 started June, a February screening makes sense according to the entertainment site.
For the third consecutive season, House of Cards episodes are being filmed in locations within Maryland, including at the offices of the Baltimore Sun which serves as setting for the fictional 'Washington Herald' featured prominently in the show. The producers of the Netflix original series previously threatened to move production elsewhere unless they get the same tax incentives that they enjoyed during the previous two seasons. On April 25, a compromise deal with the state was settled and production finally resumed.
The two members of the Russian feminist punk rock protest group Pussy Riot who were indicted and jailed for 'hooliganism motivated by religious hatred' for a staged performance inside Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Savior will be seen in Season 3 of House of Cards. The two, Nadezhda "Nadya" Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, who were recently released after serving 22 months of their two-year sentence, were seen on the show's set in Baltimore early this month according to City Paper, a local news source. The two were arrested for performing and recording the music video "Punk Prayer - Mother of God, Chase Putin Away!"inside the church without permission. An inside source reportedly confirmed to City Paper that "Nadezhda and Maria from Pussy Riot were on set, and are in season 3 of HoC."
