Cinderella 2015 Release Date, Spoilers, Latest News, Cast Updates and More: Classic Princess Fairy Tale Filming Now Underway and Hitting Theaters in 2015
If there is one Disney princess movie that will top the chart, it is none other than the adaptation of the fairy tale written by Charles Perrault, 'Cinderella'. After seeing various cartoon versions and some musicals, fans of the tale will be glad to hear that Disney will be making a live-action movie version of the beloved fairy tale. As a matter of fact, it is scheduled to enchant us with a 'Happily Ever After' charm in theatres by March 13, 2015.
The screenplay was written by Aline Brosh Mckenna and Chris Weitz while the cinematography are under the skillful hands of Haris Zambarloukos. Musical scoring is by Patrick Doyle while the film director gets to be helmed highly acclaimed Kenneth Branagh. With Disney twisting up stories from our childhood favorite movies and making it more serious, some fans weren't so happy with the overall result of their previous films 'Maleficent' and 'Snow White'. Fortunately, we were assured that there will be very little deviation from the original version of the film for 'Cinderella'.
What will be different this time is that we will get to know more about Prince Kit, the so-called Prince Charming of the story. His character will be portrayed by the King of the North from the Game of Thrones series, Richard Madden. As for Cinderella, she will be portrayed by the ever gracious and very fitting Lily James. The production team said James combines her knockout beauty with intelligence, grace, wits and fun, creating a perfect Cinderella.
