Minecraft Xbox 360 Latest News and UPDATE! Yay! Gets a NEW Doctor Who DLC Soon!

Minecraft gamers for Xbox 360 platform will have the chance to download a DLC packed of Doctor Who. The first series of the Dr. Who DLC pack will be made available in September at a retail price of $3 USD.

Minecraft players can use the characters from the Doctor Who DLC packs as their avatars in the game.

Microsoft - Mojang - BBC Deal

According to a post from the doctorwho site, the DLC packs for Minecraft was a result of a successful negotiation between the game developer Mojang, co-developer and Xbox 360 platform owner Microsoft, and BBC who owns the rights for the Doctor Who characters.

First Pack Characters

According to the same post, the first of the series will contain "Twelfth Doctor Who" inspired character. He will be accompanied by five other Dr. Who characters. Their enemies, "The Daleks" will also be included.

More packs will soon to follow and each pack will contain at least 6 characters of Dr. Who.

BBC's Outlook on The Deal

Doctorwhotv quoted BBC Digital Entertainment and Games Director Rikesh Desai about the deal. He said, "We're constantly looking for new and innovative ways to bring Doctor Who content to our loyal fans. Working collaboratively with Microsoft, we created an exciting new product which will allow Doctor Who fans to create their brand new adventures in the heart of the iconic world of Minecraft."

Minecraft is game developed by Mojang. It is a game where player use blocks to built structures as a protection against the nocturnal creatures that is hunting the players. Later on, the game expanded to the point where players can create their own virtual worlds. Players can even join other online players to build things together or venture to The Nether, a rather unpleasant place or Mushroom Land where everything is nice.
