Thor 3 release date, rumors, spoilers, latest news: Third installment is a go, but Chris Hemsworth warns fans it won't be soon; Thanos and new villains make an appearance  

Thor 3 news: Marvel has given the go signal for both "Captain America 3" and "Thor 3".

But lead actor Chris Hemsworth, who plays the God of Thunder, is quick to point out that the Thor 3 release date won't be coming anytime soon.

"I don't think it's just yet, Thor 3. I think it's a ways away."

Hollywood insiders speculate Thor 3 might be onscreen by 2017.

Thor 3 spoilers leaked online revealed that Thor 3 plot would focus on the end of Asgard as Loki ushers in the age of Ragnarok.

Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki in the movie franchise, mentions this Thor 3 storyline in an interview.

"I think there are very interesting things that happen. In the mythology, when you get to Ragnarok, which is 'the end of all things', it's not the end of the world ... it's the end of time, and the universe, and space. And I think, if I am correct, Loki essentially sets that in motion. And his motivation for doing so is intriguing and he almost becomes the incarnation of chaos, in a way," he said.

Thor 3 rumors also point to the fire demon Surtur and the flame giants of Muspelheim destroying Asgard, forcing Thor out of his exile and return to save the realm.

Mad Titan Thanos could also make an appearance in Thor 3, as Odin has something he desperately wants: the infinity gauntlet. He will use Asgard's destruction to fulfill his plan of ruling the universe.
