CM Punk to Delay Release of WWE 2K15 Video Game?

CM Punk may delay the release of the video game WWE 2K15 according to Game Ranx. Lawyers for the retired pro wrestler have reportedly sent a 22-page letter to WWE regarding payment of royalties for their use of his likeness in the WWE 2K15 video game. 

It was already announced to the public that WWE 2K15 is set for release on October 28 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms. 

CM Punk has been a hugely popular character in the WWE 2K14 game, especially in the WWE Raw 2014 option in the WWE Universe mode. Before he left the company in January, CM Punk (or Philip Jack 'Phil' Brooks in real life) was already included in the WWE 2K15 game, including the WWE Raw 2015 option in the WWE Universe mode. In fact, game publisher 2K Games and game developers Yuke's and Visual Concepts have also said that he will be a character in the new "2K Showcase" which will be a major attraction in the upcoming video game. 

CM Punk "retired" January 27, 2014, although he still then had until July 17 before his contract with WWE officially expire. While this is unconfirmed, it believed that WWE may have stopped paying him video game royalties because he breached his contract by abruptly quitting and because he has publicly been bad-mouthing the pro wrestling entertainment establishment.

In related CM Punk news, video game fans are apparently more concerned as to whether the upcoming WWE 2K game will be featuring the old CM Punk theme song or the new CM Punk theme song. Fan blog site Auburn Pub is even fretting that John Cena will be pitted against CM Punk in the video game's Showcase mode. The site asks: "Is Punk really Cena's best rival in the latter's 10 years of being the ace of WWE? Is he Cena's best foil? His best opponent?"
