'Puss in Boots 2: Nine Lives and 40 Thieves' The Clever Cat Will Once Again Entertain The Big Screen Release Date Set and Spoiler will be Told

Puss in Boots 2 is an upcoming animated comedy film to be directed by Chris Miller and executive produced by Guillermo Del Toro. It is a sequel to the first film Puss in Boots released just about 3 years ago to international audiences on October 16, 2011.

The returning producer of the upcoming follow up Chris Miller is also known to have worked on the animated movie called Shrek the Third in 2007.

The first film was said to have been a success and have won the "Best Animated Feature" during the Academy Awards. It was produced as a prequel to the Shrek movie series, portraying the adventures of Puss before appearing in the film Shrek 2.

Originally, the story of the films was based on the Italian and French fairy tale of 1697 called by the same name in English, but also translated as Master Cat. It was about a trickster cat that deceives in order to achieve power and riches, and later the marriage of a princess.

Returning to voice for the upcoming animated film, as the main character Puss is actor Antonio Banderas. Other characters include: Kitty Softpaws as Salma Hayek who helps Puss in the end. Camilita and Fernendo who are Puss' parents are being portrayed by Maria Canals Berrara and Miguel Ferrer. El Breato will be the main adversary in the movie and is to be portrayed by Benjamin Bratt.

The development of the upcoming film was announced just this year last April, and is expected to release on December 21, 2018, having rescheduled from November 2.
