How I Met Your Mother Season 9 Spoilers, Alternative Endings News, Rumors And Reports: Fans Can Now Have A Look At The Better Version Of "How I Met Your Mother" Ending
We have the latest on the spoilers, alternative endings news, rumors and reports of How I Met Your Mother Season 9. Viewers expressed their dissatisfaction following the ending of their favorite sitcom, "How I Met Your Mother" season 9 grand season finale. The disappointing ending infuriated many people causing co-creator Carter Bays to tweet in defense of the sitcom saying "if you didn't like the finale, I guess that happens. We tried something and it didn't connect with you. I hope we're still friends".
Bays revealed that "How I Met Your Mother" had two different conclusions and that the alternative ending would be featured on the "How I Met Your Mother": The whole story, season 1-9 DVD set. With the DVDs due later this month, the much awaited deleted scene has been released.
Spoiler alert, the main difference between the actual ending and the alternative conclusion is, Tracy McConnell, Ted Mosby's wife does not pass away due to a terminal illness and the cold manner in which the actual ending reveals Tracy's death is different in the alternative ending. The buildup of suspense to the fans after waiting 9 seasons to see Ted meet the mother of his kids only in the end to have her die disappointed fans of the sitcom. In the alternative ending Ted does not end up marring Robin Scherbatsky, partly because Ted is not widowed and Robin remains married to Neil Patrick Harris' Barney Stinson. In short, in this alternative ending there is less divorce, less death, and more closure from the narration provided by Bob Saget.
This alternative ending may have put a smile on the faces of "How I Met Your Mother" fans and open room for criticism as many wonder why the directors did not use this alternative ending. "16 days ago we were in the HIMYM edit room, trying to decide between two different endings. We only shot one script, but through edit room magic we had two possible outcomes of the series. We chose the ending we chose and stand by it. But we loved the other version too" Bays explained about his decision back in April.
The internet is flooded with spoilers on HIMYM grand finale as it fills in the gaps between Robin and Barneys wedding and the year 2030, when Ted explains to his kids. Perhaps it should have been called 'How I Met Your Stepmother' that's according to one spoiler.
In the one hour season finale that span 17 years, two weddings, five births, new jobs, a divorce and a death, "How I Met Your Mother" a sitcom on CBS that focuses on five inseparable pals hanging out in a New York bar; Marshall(Jason Segel), Lily(Alyson Hannigan), Robin(Cobie Smulder), Barney(Neil Patrick Harris) and Ted(Josh Radnor) when Ted final answers the posed question to his adolescent children, with the biggest no-surprise of all: He winds up with someone you expected from the start.
