Rise of the Tomb Raider Release Date and Latest Update: Rise of the Tomb Rider Locked to Xbox Microsoft Confirmed, PC and Playstation Soon after Xbox Contract

During the time when the Microsoft announced that the Rise of the Tomb Rider is only available for Xbox fans exclusively, they were sent into frenzy. How could Microsoft do that when almost everybody is looking forward to it? While there are too many fans who are expecting that Microsoft and Sony would be together, and both will work hand and hand with new features available, only few expected that there would be a third party possibly meddling between the two.

However, unfortunately, the suspicion turned out to be true -- well, only partially, because, later, it was revealed that the Rise of the Tomb Rider is locked with Xbox One as well as Xbox 360 within a period of time, starting next year; that would be 2015, which is also the release date for the said game. The good news is once the contract with Xbox is done, Rise of the Tomb Rider will possibly open to Playstation and PC anytime just as long as it is done with Xbox.

But eventhough Microsoft have already spoken about this, there are still speculations, wondering why Crystal Dynamics or the Square Enix did not come out to confirm that Rise of the Tomb Rider will also be available on PC and Playstation sooner? The answer to this has already been laid out to the public:

"We, certainly, didn't intend to cause any confusion about the announcement. The Microsoft Gamescom stage was a great place to make the initial announcement, but not necessarily to go into details."

They also added that they do not put much focus on the release of Rise of the Tomb Rider on PC and Playstation sooner because they are more focused on the release of the game to Xbox, which is anytime soon.
