Pacific Rim 2 Updates And News On the Sequel: Charlie Hunnam confirms sequel to be filmed as planned

Pacific Rim 2 is under works, after the first movie raked in over $411 million. Guillermo Del Toro, the director of Pacific Rim, along with the writer Zak Penn, have released reports that they are planning a sequel for the movie. During one interview, Guillermo revealed that the sequel will be completely different to the original movie plot in the previous film. In fact, they are looking to make completely different sequences for the new movie.

Now, there have been rumors about the movie not being a done deal yet. But Pacific Rim 2 has definitely been confirmed to the public. They even revealed the release date to be April 17, 2017 and Universal Studios has announced the release of this sequel.

Well, Charlie Hunnam who played Raleigh Beckett recently did an interview with Nuke The Fridge and talked about the movie briefly. He did confirm that the second installment of the movie is a go for everyone. He recently did a film with Del Toro (Crimson Peak) and they have had conversation about it and it is definitely going to be filmed as planned. They already have a release date and script. Guess they will just have to start the production and filming soon if they want to go on with their scheduled release date. Hunnam also expressed in his interview that everyone on the team seemed very enthusiastic about the second movie.

The Pacific Rim 2 trailer has yet to be released to tease the public but we're hoping that they will release one very soon. The team is hoping to show something very new and fresh that you won't think you're watching a sequel-so that should be interesting!
