Survivor Season 29 news, spoilers and cast: Location to be set in Nicaragua and set to Premiere on September 24
The CBS' longest running survival competition reality television series, Survivor, is back for a 29th season. Survivor 29 or rather Survivor: San Juan del Sur - Blood vs Water is bringing more than just the usual challenges, rivalries and drama. The tribes consist of nine pairs of people "related to each other" - but not just lover's, married or dating relationship but also siblings or parent and child tandem where all of them will be competing for the million dollar prize.
According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, the show were to feature a lesbian couple, however, the two had to back out of the show due to health issues. Host, Jeff Probst shared his sentiments on the unfortunate but unavoidable situation, "We lost a pair of women, so the way it works out is there are more men than women. That's just the game. We don't like it that way but that's the way it's going to start". He further adds that the show's audience can expect that Survivor season 29 challenges will be more difficult than Survivor 27 or 28.
Some of the Survivor season 29 cast members are not strangers to reality television - in fact, they have taken part on other reality competitions. Former Amazing Race and Amazing Race: All Stars participants, Nadiya and Natalie Anderson are part of Survivor season 29. Other Survivor season 29 cast members are father and son pair Keith and Wes Nale, boyfriend and girlfriend Josh Canfield and Reed Kelly; married couple Jeremy and Val Collins, brothers Drew and Alec Christy, mother and daughter Missy Payne and Baylor Wilson, college sweethearts Jon Misch and Jaclyn Schultz and father-daughter pair Dale and Kelley Wentworth.
If you are not aware yet, Survivor season 29's location will be at San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.
Survivor season 29's premier date is on September 24, 2014.
