True Detective Season 2 Cast, Latest News: Whole New Plot, Characters, and Setting Awaits Viewers

The American television crime drama series, "True Detectives," which premiered on HBO just this year, have proven a lot by receiving widespread critical commendations.The first season created and written by NicPizzolatto, was directed by Cary JojiFukunaga.

The eight episode series saw unsullied performances by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as Rust Cohle, and Marty Hart, two Louisina State homicide detectives assigned to solve the mystery behind some ritualistic killings. The story looks back on the pair working on the unsolved case in 1995 and are brought in for questioning when the investigation is reopened.

The second season of "True Detective," is expected to feature a whole new storyline and setting. Though we won't be seeing Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson for this season, new characters will also be introduced. However, HBO drama has not provided a concrete list of the cast playing in the upcoming season yet. Moreover, those actors rumoured to join the upcoming season has not made any confirmations yet.

Some of these rumoured actors have been reported by the Deadline and The Wrap, which include Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch, and Garrett Hedlund as the leads. The role for the female lead is also recently reported to be a contest between Rachel McAdams or Michelle Forbes. 

Fans canexpect a whole new perspective from theupcoming storyline, since directors set to revamp the typical narrative style of the previous season. The final set will be in California, and not in Los Angeles, as previously reported. 

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that "True Detective" Season 2 will begin filming in September and that it should be ready to air in early 2015, according to HBO Programing President, Michael Lombardo.
