iCloud Log In Security Upgrade, Remote Sign Out, Hack Reports And Latest Updates: Two- Factor Authentication Feature And Remote Sign Out Feature To Be Used To Strengthen iCloud Security
We have the latest news for you on iCloud log in security upgrade, remote sign out, hack reports and latest updates. Following the nude pictures of a celebrity that were leaked following the iCloud hack, Tim Cook, Apple's C.E.O said in an interview by the Wall Street Journal, that the company was making plans to increase the security of the iCloud.
Cook explained how iCloud was hacked but he emphasized that the hack only targeted specific individuals where the Hackers used strategic measures to guess the individuals passwords, was this just a strategy to save the company's reputation by Tim Cook? Reports claim it was not a widespread hack of iCloud.
In response to the words of Tim Cook, once any one logs into iCloud via a web browser a code is prompted to you if you have enabled two- factor authentication on your Apple account. The two- factor authentication previously was only applied when it came to making of sales.
Apple has also put in place an option to remotely sign out to all browsers, meaning one is required to log in again to access his/her apple account . With the two factor authentication code in place the iCloud is more secure to access via the web browser which is the most likely path the hackers use to access the user's iCloud data.
The new iCloud upgrade has made hacking close to impossible. Prior to the tech upgrade on Tuesday, analyst Christina Warren hacked her own account with a $200 off the shelf software but now with the security measures in place that is the two factor authentication code and the remote sign out, hackers guessing the password will not be able to hack any account without the code.
It was on August 31 that many celebrity nude photos were posted to message board on 4chan, which many believe originated from their iCloud accounts accessed by what many call iCloud forensic software used to access account passwords especially if they are very strong. Apple had defended themselves to salvage their reputation with the claim that it wasn't a technical breach which later in a review by Tim Cook publicly announced that Apple would review and upgrade security in the iCloud service.
