Expect iPad Air 2 at Apple's iPad Event this October, iPad Air 2 Specs, Features, and Release Date
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo noted earlier that iPad Air 2 may show up during an Apple event, perhaps in October, with other iPad products. Now, he may be just right, because iPad Air 2 is expected to show up at an Apple event this October 21.
As for the specs, Kuo stated that the new iPad Air 2 "will see significant spec upgrades", making it the best tablet in the present market. Kuo believes that the new iPad Air will come with an anti-reflective screen coating, a full-lamination touch panel, a new gold-colored metal casing, an 8-megapixel camera and a more powerful A8 processor. Kuo is also expecting that the iPad Air 2 will have the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, newly introduced in iPhone 5s, and the front camera to change to a 1.5 megapixel lens.
Also, the new iPad Air 2 is said to have better performance, graphics and energy use, thanks to the new A8 CPU. The new iPad Air 2 users could also expect a better mobile computing, stability and security.
The iPad Air 2 is also expected to be a 9.7 inch tablet, its forms similar to the original iPad Air, but with 2GB RAM boost, Touch ID home button (as in iPhone 5s) and a split-screen capability. It might even be slimmer than the previous iPad Air.
If the iPad Air 2 does show up at the Apple's October event, the new iPad Air is expected to hit the market in the beginning of November. The first iPad Air release date was around that time last year. Based on Bloomberg's sources, iPad Air 2 has already started its production.
