iOS 8 Update for iPod 5: Problems With Performance And More
Every single previous operating system update from Apple phones including iOS 6 and iOS 7 has been more popular than iOS 8 for a number of reasons. According to some stats, less than 20% of the Apple devices all across the world are using this new update, which is a much lower rate than what the developers have expected.
It all starts with the kind of space iOS 8 update asks for in order for it to be installed. Usually, the owners keep their devices, especially the iPod Touch 5 loaded with music and they do not really want to lose such an important collection of music. Additionally, it could be quite tedious to create backup for so much of data.
Although iPod Touch 5 iOS 8 update does not really take 5 GB of space after installation, you need it in the first place for the update process. In such a situation, the best solution is to update the system using iTunes with a computer. This way iPod only requires 1 GB free space.
Now the more critical problems involve bugs, freezing, and laggy performance. Of course, iPhone 4S users have more to talk about such problems but the forums are filled with complaints from iPod users. Given that Touch 5 is the only iPod running on new operating system, this might not be a good situation for Apple until they come up with iPod 6. Till then, experts advise that you save space and refrain from extreme multitasking. Apple will soon launch the patch and update that would improve the performance.
