Chris Brown X Album Song Pays Homage to R. Kelly, Again; New Album Tracklist Includes Collaborations with Jhene Aiko, Brandy, Nicki Minaj and Kendrick Lamar
The Chris Brown new album song list includes a track called "Songs On 12 Play," supposedly an attempt at paying homage to R. Kelly. It must be remembered that Brown tried to do the same thing on his 2009 released album called 'Money' with the song "Kelly's 12 Play." This was a move that wasn't very appreciated by critics, some calling it strange to even be paying homage to "a man whose image is more questionable than yours."
Another thing to note about the new Chris Brown X album is that this time, unlike in his previous albums, he gets to have more collaborations with female artists, such as Jhene Aiko on "Drunk Texting," Brandy on "Do Better" and, of course, Nicki Minaj on "Love More."
What many people has considered thus far to be the most promising among the Chris Brown X album songs is "Autumn Leaves" featuring Kendrick Lamar seemingly giving Brown some advice on how to stay on his feet in spite of his problems.
"When you make mistake the most, the most/One day it'll make you grow, you grow/When you outlandish and you lose manners/To God you shall consult, consult," the lyrics go. "When the bright cameras are still cramming/In your face and it provoke, provoke/You to act manic, just stay planted/Cause you reapin' what you sowed/Keep positivity in your heart and keep a noose from 'round your throat."
