Chicago Fire Season 3: Death Of A Major Character; Plus Possible Departure Of Dawson From Firehouse 51 Hinted For Premiere Episode
Chicago Fire Season 3 Episode 1 airs tomorrow, September 23, at its regular 10 PM time slot on NBC. Entitled "Always," the premiere's synopsis says "Boden (Eamonn Walker) and the rest of the Firehouse 51 team deal with the explosion's aftermath in the Season 3 opener. Meanwhile, Casey searches for Severide, who's gone missing; Newhouse has surprising news about Mills' family; and Hermann and Otis make a decision about Molly's." For episode 1, the list of Chicago Fire Season 3 cast still includes Jesse Spencer as Matthew Casey, Taylor Kinney as Kelly Severide, Charlie Barnett as Peter Mills, Monica Raymund as Gabriela Dawson, Lauren German as Leslie Shay, David Eigenberg as Christopher Herrmann, Joe Minoso as Joe Cruz, Yuri Sardarov as Brian Zvonecek, and Christian Stolte as Randy "Mouch" McHolland. However, not all of them may get to stay in the cast for the rest of the season.
Next season's first episode will open right after the accident shown in the last scene of the Chicago Fire Season 2 finale when the building exploded with almost the entire cast inside. One of two big Chicago Fire Season 3 spoilers that fans can expect is that one of the major characters in the show may not make it out of the warehouse which exploded just as the team was in the middle of a search and rescue operation. In fact, in an interview with TV Guide, Chicago Fire showrunner Matt Olmstead himself revealed: "Not everybody makes it out of that building, and then certainly what people deal with in terms of the loss of whomever that character is, that's definitely what we're dealing with in the first episode and beyond." The other big possible Chicago Fire Season 3 spoiler is that Dawson (Monica Raymund) "will be saying goodbye to Firehouse 51," according to TV Guide.
Given the sense of realism portrayed on the serialized TV show, fans are wont to ask where is Chicago Fire filmed. Filming is done right in Chicago and "the series will continue to be filmed in the Windy City," according to the Chicago Tribune. The firehouse shown in the TV series is in fact the city's own Engine 18's quarters, located at 1360 S. Blue Island Avenue between 13th & Racine. Inside there are the real ALS Engine 18, 2-2-1 (Deputy District Chief - 1st District), 4-5-7 (Paramedic Field Chief - EMS District 7), 6-4-16 (High-Rise Response Unit), and BLS Ambulance 84.
Chicago Fire TV 3, for those who just want to know, airs the NBC drama show in Sweden.
