Stalker TV series news: Inspired by current headlines, Dylan McDermott and Maggie Q star as detectives in CBS's scariest psychological thriller to date
Stalker TV series news: Dylan McDermott and Maggie Q play detectives in CBS's newest psychological thriller, Stalker, which premieres on October 1.
McDermott is Detective Jack Larsen while Maggie Q is Lt. Beth Davis; both work for the Threat Assessment Unit or TAU, which is tasked to investigate stalking incidents like voyeurism, cyber harassment, and romantic fixation.
It is interesting to note that Maggie Q's character was once a stalking victim herself.
The Stalker cast also includes Victor Rasuk as Detective Ben Caldwell and Mariana Klaveno as Detective Janice Lawrence. 90210 alumnus Annalynne McCord guest stars as TV actress Nina Preston, who seeks TAU's help after an obsessed fan threatens her life.
Stalker TV series episode plots are inspired by actual headlines, with actors sharing their personal experiences.
Asked if Stalker might inspire would-be stalkers out there, McDermott says, "I hope not. You never want that."This is entertainment. We're not trying to go out there and inform anybody on how to do this stuff."
However, "They call it the scariest show on television and I think there's a reason for that," McDermott added.
Kevin Williamson, the brains behind The Following and the Scream movie franchise, conceptualized Stalker. Williamson brings in real life experience into the series, as a stalker once broke into his home.
Watch out for Stalker this October on CBS.
