Serena Movie Update: Magnolia Pictures "Default Distributor" of Serena, Bad Reviews for Mr. & Mrs. Pemberton
It has been recently reported that Magnolia Pictures acquired the Serena movie as its "default distributor", with a US release date targeted at early 2015. However, the movie was reportedly rejected by several studios before it found its film distributor. The reason for the rejection was that it was generally inconsistent, "The film was so edited, it made no sense", while another one commented on Serena's performance stating that it was "uneven, particularly Lawrence's [descent into madness]". Given that the movie is directed by Oscar-winner Susanne Bier, the stated reasons are rather surprising.
Fans have already seen the two popular faces in movies "Silver Linings Playbook" and "American Hustle; Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence are about to have their third movie collaboration in their upcoming new movie Serena, with an official release date of October 24 in the UK.
