Pebble Steel Smartwatch: How's this Pebble next to the Other Smartwatches? Features, Review, and Price
The Pebble Steel smartwatch seems a lot like the previous one, except with a stainless steel frame. What else is new? How is it compared to other smartwatches? Here is what we know.
The Pebble Steel has a high-end construction. It is both fashionable and functional. By using an iPhone or Android control application, a growing number of apps can be added or deleted from the watch. It does the little but important things that you need from your phone, like weather reports and notifications. There is now an app store for the watch, too. The Steel also offers a software upgrade. Yet, the watch can only hold 8 apps at a time, and its Fitness apps don't offer much. It also has no microphone, speaker, touch screen, or color display. To add, the watch costs $249, a $100 more than the previous 2013 Pebble, with no new hardware improvements.
The layout of the new Pebble is similar to the previous one. The new one, though, has a stainless steel chassis frame with a Gorilla Glass screen. This adds a little more of that classic, sophisticated feel to it. The watch comes either in a black leather band or a stainless steel band or both. Either way, this new Pebble Steel beats other smartwatches when it comes to its simplicity and good looks.
Compared to other smartwatches, Pebble surely wins in their display technology and battery life. A Pebble watch can last a week, and that's definitely important to most smartwatch pickers.
The Pebble Steel is surely worth wearing and using, but is it worth buying? The Pebble Steel Smartwatch definitely looks great, and it only offers a little more than the previous Pebble, with a higher price, and the battery lasts a week.
