This Day in History - December 10
In 1984, the single "Do They Know It's Christmas" was released by Band-Aid. The charity super-group group was brought together by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to aid in famine relief in Ethiopia.

The song is one of the few Christmas songs that has not been covered by a Christian artist.
In 1520, German reformer Martin Luther publicly burned Pope Leo X's bull, "Exsurge Domine," which had demanded that Luther recant his "protestant" heresies, including that of justification by faith alone.
