The Mentalist has been renewed for its seventh and final season by the CBS Network.
The Mentalist is an American crime procedural television series, which follows Patrick Jane, an independent consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI) located in Sacramento, California. Patrick Jane is known to have an outstanding track record of solving serious crimes by just utilizing his highly-amazing observation skills. Later on, Jane also joins the FBI. Jane is in search of Red John, the one responsible for killing his wife and daughter.
The Mentalist stars 2010 Golden Globe Award Nominee Simon Baker as Patrick Jane, 2001 Blockbuster Entertainment Award Nominee and 2006 Boston Film Festival Prize Winner Robin Tunney as Teresa Lisbon, Tim Kang as Kimball Cho, 2014 Black Reel Award Nominee Rockmond Dunbar as Dennis Abbott, and Emily Swallow as Kim Fischer.
Cast members Owain Yeoman who played Wayne Rigsby and 2009 Short Fim Award Winner Amanda Righetti as Grave Van Pelt will no longer be in the CBS drama this spring.
However, it was recently revealed that Actress Emily Shallow will not be present in the last season as FBI Agent Kim Fischier, as she confirmed that she has moved on to her other projects. Nonetheless, majority of the cast from season 6 remain the same in season 7.
Rumors say that someone will replace her and will become a romantic tie-up. More than that, novice agent Michelle Vega will become associated with Kimball Cho. More than that, a new woman, according to rumors, is about to enter the life of Patrick Jane. TV Line confirmed that Josie Loren will be part as a possible series regular and play the character of Michelle Vega, an enthusiastic FBI agent who joins Jane's team. Well-trained in combat and weaponry, Vega also remains calm while under pressure.
CBS has confirmed the first five episode titles of the final season of the series. Arranged in order, starting from the premiere episode, the five episodes are - Nothing But Blue Skies, The Graybar Hotel, Orange Blossom Ice Cream, Black Market, and Silver Briefcase.
The Mentalist initially debuted on September 23, 2008 on CBS. As to the release date, there is no official announcement yet. The season finale of The Mentalist will be having its debut in Spring 2015 on Neflix.
