Avengers 2 Movie Release: Official Age of Ultron Trailer May Show On Interstellar's Theatrical Premiere Screening Date
Avengers 2: Age of Ultron release date is May 1, 2015, as announced by Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, in 2D and in IMAX 3D. The sequel to 2012's "Marvel's The Avengers," earth's mightiest superheroes will be pushed to the brink of their limits. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director and writer Joss Whedon said, "With the first 'Avengers,' everybody pretty much had the power to punch somebody. And now we have a woman who can get inside your head and move objects, and a boy who can move faster than anything, and a robot who can replicate and is out of his mind. So all of a sudden, it's a darker, weirder, tougher world that they're living in."
In the Avengers Age of Ultron story line, the woman who can get inside people's head and move objects with her will is Scarlet Witch (played by Elizabeth Olsen) while the boy who can move faster than anything is her fraternal twin Quicksilver (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson). The crazy robot who can replicate is the Ultron (played by James Spader) in the movie's title and who ironically was created by Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) himself to help out in restoring peace and order following the destruction of S.H.I.E.L.D. as a result of the mayhem witnessed in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."Whedon in a talk with Empire further describes his own film version of Marvel's comic book Ultron, saying: "I'm having a blast with Ultron. He's not a creature of logic - he's a robot who's genuinely disturbed. We're finding out what makes him menacing and at the same time endearing and funny and strange and unexpected, and everything a robot never is." Whedon's Ultron, to complete his team of baddies, creates the Vision, a solar-powered synthetic humanoid who can fly, discharge energy beams and alter his body's density. Interestingly, the Vision will be played by Paul Bettany who was the voice actor behind JARVIS, Tony Starks' own AI assistant in "Iron Man 3."
But in Avengers 2, Disney's take on Ultron's agenda, what does the crazy robor want? In a sequence of the film, according to Screen Rant, Ultron during his own launching party, told the members of the Avengers, "I know you're good people. I know you mean well...but you just didn't think it through...There is only one path to peace...your extermination." However, in the Avengers 2: Age of Ultron trailer that was shown at the San Diego Comic-Con, there was a slightly different version to the introduction of Ultron and what he wants done. According to Cinema Blend, the Avengers were having some friendly discussion at the Avengers Tower as to who can lift Thor's hammer. All but the Black Widow tried but they all failed to even budge Mjolnir. Asked why, Thor's answer was, "You're all not worthy." Everyone was smiling at the simple answer until Ultron steps in and interjects, "Worthy? How could you be worthy? You're all killers. You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change. There's only one path to peace. Your extinction."
Aside from Downey, Spader, Bettany, Olsen and Taylor-Johnson, The Avengers: Age of Ultron cast will have Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson returning to reprise their original roles as Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Nick Fury, respectively. Other members of The Avengers: Age of Ultron cast include Cobie Smulders as agent Maria Hill, Don Cheadle as Col. James Rhodes, Hayley Atwell as agent Peggy Carter, Thomas Kretschmann as Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, and Stellan Skarsgard as Erik Selvig. As in previous Marvel films, Stan Lee is expected to make a cameo appearance.
Despite what's already been uploaded and being watched at the social media sites, and despite the fact that filming was already completed in August, Cinema Blend found out from Marvel President Kevin Feige that the official Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer wouldn't be coming to theaters or the Internet until "later, much later." Screen Rant says that "according to Russian website FilmPro (via CBM), the first trailer for 2015′s 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' will run before 'Interstellar' when the latter film is released on November 7th... [although] it is [also] entirely possible that we could see the footage sometime in late October."
