"Mass Effect 4" Release Date: Still Far from Reality; Playable Races Still Uncertain
Mass Effect trilogy is a science fiction action role-playing third person shooting video game series. The game is developed by BioWare, a Canadian company. The trilogy centers on a soldier by the name of Commander Shepard, whose mission is to safeguard the galaxy from a race of powerful mechanical beings.
The three installments have been released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Microsoft Windows, with the third installment released on Wii U.
The game developers revealed that the game will take place in a whole new timeline in the universe by the game name, "Mass Effect 4." "Mass Effect 4" is the working title for the next installment in the Mass Effect Universe. It also serves as the first game for the next generation of consoles. It made an appearance in EA's press conference.
One thing gamers expect from the upcoming "Mass Effect 4" is the freedom to choose from alien races as the starting character. Unfortunately, it has not been confirmed yet by the developers.
IBTimes reported that "Mass Effect 4" will likely introduce alien races as playable characters. This possibility would be way unlike from the previous trilogy, which only had human characters as starter options.
"In terms of other playable races we can't talk about that at this point," said Mike Gamble, one of the game producers.
There had also been reports regarding the involvement of non-human characters in the upcoming game, which include the Drell Thane Krios, Quiran nar Rayya and the recent Salarian Mordin Solus.
With regard to what alien races the players can expect to see in "Mass Effect 4," there have been rumors that the Turians and the Asari may be present. A Krogan was also seen during the teaser at the Electronic Entertainment expo this year.
More than that, BioWare also confirmed that the game will not star Commander Shepard, who happened to star the original Trilogy of the game.
However, it is still miles away from release because the developers are doing additional effort to craft the upcoming game better than before. Rumors suggest that the delay could be due to the upcoming launch of EA-published role playing game, "Dragon Age: Inquisition."
As for now, fans will have to wait for succeeding updates on the much-anticipated game.
