House of Cards Season 3: Spoilers, Cast, and Release Updates
House of Cards is renewed for a third season, as Netflix made the official announcement on February 4 this year. For now, the upcoming new season is aiming for a release date in 2015. Here is what we know about the upcoming new season of House of Cards.
At the end of season 2, Chief of Staff Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) was attacked in the woods by a prostitute named Rachel Posner (Rachel Brosnahan). Fans are wondering what will happen to Doug after the incident, and of course there's the new president of the United States.
Frank, played by Kevin Spacey, is now the new President, and will surely be the focus of the upcoming new season. For one, Frank's position won't be safe, given his past. Russo and Barnes died previously, and their deaths will stir some trouble for sure.
As for the cast, Robin Wright (Claire Underwood), Nathan Darrow (Edward Meechum), and other important cast members are reprising their usual roles for the new season.
It is also said that the Russian punk band "Pussy Riot" will be making special appearances in the new season, as the season 3 explores the relations between the US and Russia.
One of the band members, Alyokhina, commented, "It's important for us to meet people who are doing political cinema in the US, because in Russia, it doesn't exist, and we want to know how it happens".
The upcoming season 3 of House of Cards is targeting a release date of early 2015.
