New Sony Xperia Z3 News: US Release Date, Specs, Features, and Price Updates
The new Sony Xperia Z3 was revealed at the IFA 2014, and it doesn't have an official US release date yet, but the gadget is already on sale in the UK, while other release dates include October 9 and 14 in Australia. Nonetheless, it seems like the new Z3 is coming out within this month, and pre-orders are already available.
The new Z3 is slimmer than the previous Z2. It still has the 5.2 inch screen, with an ultra-bright display that uses TRILUMINOSTM, Live Color LED and X-Reality technology. It's also waterproof, as it can withstand the water for 30 minutes at depths of up to 1.5m.
The Z3 is powered by 2.5 GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 801 processor, and runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The Z3 supports 4K video recording, while having a 16GB internal storage that's expandable up to 128GB with a microSD. The Z2 and Z3 are very much alike in looks.
Sony says the battery life is better with Z3, as it lasts for up to 2 days, with its 3100mAh battery.
The Z3 still has the 20.7 megapixel camera, but with a new 25mm wide-angle Sony G Lens that allows you to take a wider range shot. It also has the 2.2 megapixel front camera.
Many will appreciate Z3's new PlayStation 4 streaming feature. Using the PS4 Remote Play app, you are now able to stream games from your PlayStation 4 and use your PS4 controller to play the games on your Z3.
The new Z3 comes in black, white, copper and silver green.
As for the price, Sony's Xperia Z3 costs around $800.
