'Sherlock' Season 4 Premiere Date: 2016 Preceding a Christmas Special, A longer wait for the Sherlock Fans
Fans of the "Sherlock" will have to wait for some time to finally see the new season. According to BBC, the British television crime drama will air its fourth season sometime in 2016. That means, "Sherlock" fans need to hold on longer this time. However, reports say that the program will feature a special Christmas show in Dec.2015 plus a series with three episodes.
"It's a record breaking run! Of course, it's far too early to say what's coming, but we're reasonably confident that the very next thing to happen to Sherlock and John is the very last thing you'd expect," Steven Moffat, told TVLine.
According to some sources, the filming of the specials will start by Jan. 2015 while the shooting for the season 4 will be in the late months next year.
BBC also released information that 'Sherlock' Season 4 Premiere Date could be slated to 2016 considering the pattern of the network in releasing a season every 2 years.
Earlier in Alan Carr's talk show, "Chatty Man," actor Martin Freeman portraying the role of Dr. Watson first gave the hint that there will be one episode special to watch for. "It's a fantastic, really mouth-watering idea. But I really don't know when we are going to get to do it."
Meanwhile, Steven Moffat said that the next installment will be greater than the epic finale of season 3, with lots of developments and changes. He teased that the show will start with a darker climax that means that there will be re-introduction of darker mysteries.
Moffat also told to Entertainment Weekly that "devastation" will be a subject. This gives a hint that probably a major character could go or it is Mrs. Hudson.
Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat also shared that the next season will be more appealing and addictive and that it will really make viewers crave for more. The show creators also hinted that the forthcoming season will be revolving around tragedy, chaos, love affair, villains and devastation.
'Sherlock' Season 4 Premiere Date will be in early 2016 with no exact date yet. The Christmas special that will be aired on Dec. 2015 will be based on the mystery "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle."
