Married at First Sight: To Divorce Or To Stay Together?
"Married at First Sight" is based on the popular Danish set-up and this has raised several eyebrows when it began this year on FYI. This is an intense social experiment following six bold souls who are longing partnership as they concur to a challenging proposal which is to get legally married the first time they meet.
There are four specialists that make what they think are three ideal couples, according to the scientific matchmaking. The experts on board are Greg Epstein (spiritualist), Dr. Logan Levkoff (sexologist), Dr. Pepper Schwartz (sociologist) and Dr. Joseph Cilona (psychologist). Since they are all experts in their chosen field, will they able to pull this off? Are they capable of creating all the matches correctly? Are the couples bound to make it or will entirely head to a big disaster?
The couples will never get a chance to get to know or meet each other until they walk down the aisle. This will be their first time to see eye to eye. Every episode follows the standard lifestyle stories of the newlyweds - from their honeymoon to early nesting to other relevant events of their married life. After a few weeks together, every couple should have a verdict: will they stay together or will they separate?
Right now, everything seems not working right. All of the three couples seem to be getting into constant misunderstanding and huge fights over the several weeks, according to the news.
Jason and Courtney appear to be growing apart since Jason likes to have some distance from his wife. He also admitted that he was doing so as to not let his new wife learn that he is being affected by his mom's health concerns.
On the other hand, Doug and Jamie seemed to have a good start until they pay a visit to the trailer park where Jamie grew up. Doug is not affected about her past, but Jamie is still haunted by it. They also have some trust issues considering Doug lied to his wife about not smoking, which he later admitted to her after some questionings. Jamie was seen confiding to a friend about her concerns of staying or leaving Doug.
For the moment, Vaughn believes that Monet is not focused on becoming a real wife. Monet learned that she has to work better after receiving some advice from her husband's mom. The couple got into a fight because Monet says that her husband do not have concerns on her happiness.
