Dracula Untold Release Date, Spoilers: "Fast & Furious 6″ and Immortals" cast member Luke Evans stars in "Dracula Untold," the origin story of the man who became Dracula
There is good news for those who have been waiting for the movie "Dracula: Untold" as it is up for release very soon. The film has been scheduled to premiere on October 10, 2014 and it will be distributed by Universal Pictures in theatres and IMAX.
"Dracula Untold" is an upcoming American dark fantasy film directed by Gary Shore and written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. The film is based on old novel of the mythological legend Dracula by Irish novelist Bram Stoker. "Fast & Furious 6″ and Immortals" cast member Luke Evans stars in "Dracula Untold," the origin story of the man who became Dracula.
"Dracula Untold" tells the story of Transylvanian prince Vlad III Tepes, whose period of peace is threatened by Sultan Mehmed II, who demands 1,000 of his principality's boys, including Vlad's own son, Ingeras, to join his army. In order to save his son, his wife Mirena and the kingdom he loves Vlad journeys to Broken Tooth Mountain, where he encounters an ancient sorcerer, Caligula, and enters into an unlikely bargain. This bargain gives the prince the strength of 100 men, the speed of a falling star and enough power to destroy his enemies. However, he will be afflicted with an insatiable thirst to drink human blood. Ultimately, this leads him to embrace his destiny as the legendary vampire Dracula.
Rumors have circulated about whether or not the film will be part of Universal's reboot of its Shared Monsters Universe. According to the film's producer Alissa Phillips, it is intended to be part of the relaunch. Phillips said, "['Dracula Untold' is] part of the monster launch, the revamp, yeah. I was really excited to be a part of that. When we started out, we weren't, but then we found out that they were gonna do it. Working with Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan, who are very much a part of creating 'The Mummy' [reboot] and the other ones, it's been fun to be a part of that."
"Dracula Untold" will be in theaters Oct. 10.
