'Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10' Updates: Brooks Ayers has revealed that he's suffering from an 'aggressive and fast-moving' type of cancer
Brooks Ayers has revealed that he's suffering from an 'aggressive and fast-moving' type of cancer. The 47-year-old former boyfriend of "The Real Housewives Of Orange County" star Vicki Gunvalson, 52, said the cancer was at stage three, according to Radar Online.
"Life is funny sometimes. Sometimes it is not," Brooks said. "My reality is that I have, once again, been diagnosed with a form of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma specifically diffuse large B cell lymphoma."
The cancer was first diagnosed in fall 2013 and Brooks said he would appreciate any support as he fights the "horrible disease."
"Let me assure you that I am going to remain positive and continue to battle this disease vigorously with much tenacity along with seeking the appropriate medical care,' he added. Brooks said that about 60 percent of all patients inflicted with his form of cancer can be cured," he said.
Brooks' ex Vicki expressed her dismay at the news. "
I am very sad about the recent diagnosis of Brooks's cancer reoccurrence," she told People in a statement. "It really puts life in perspective and makes you realize how important health, family and friends are during this time. Thank you for respecting his privacy and for all your thoughts and prayers for Brooks during this time."
Vicki and Brooks, who met in 2011 through Vicki's insurance business, had their split televised in August 2013 during the reality show's reunion special. Brooks was confronted by Vicki's adult daughter Briana Wolfsmith Culberson during the show for bragging to her about the size of his manhood. The televised breakup came after shocking audio tapes were released. Brooks later issued an apology for his abusive comments. The pair had a rocky relationship with Brooks enduring rumours that he was unfaithful to Vicki.
Gunvalson and Ayers dated on and off for years, but are no longer a couple. The reality star has appeared on nine seasons of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" and will return for a 10th season on Bravo.
