Puss in Boots Release Date, Spoilers, News, Reveals , Reviews and Updates: Animation Coming Soon to Netflix this Year

The Shrek franchise as spawned quite a few interesting characters apart from the ogre we all love. The more famous of these characters and who has one movie behind him, a movie coming out in 2018 and now a series coming to Netflix later in 2014 is Puss in Boots. Puss shall get a whole season all to himself which begs the question; will they go the way of The Penguins of Madagascar?  The Penguins got their own show on Nickelodeon but it seemed to be in a universe that was not in sync with the one in which the movies were shot in.

Puss in boots as a story is one of the classic fairytales that have been told time and time again. Originally from Spain, the cat in the story is the inheritance of a middle child. The child feels robbed because one brother got the mill and the other the mules.  The cat however, is cunning and somehow using amazing trickery and a few well placed threats manages to get his master married to the princess of the land and kill an ogre. After the marriage our boot wearing feline lives in the lap of luxury happily ever after. Although our puss knows an ogre too it is highly unlikely that he will be killing him. We can hope to see Shrek in the cartoon but that would be the unlikeliest of things to happen. We however can guess that he will be referenced in one way or another. It would be nice to see donkey as well.

Antonio Banderas voices the shoe wearing feline in the movies but it is still unclear whether we will be hearing his voice on Netflix. The series is set to be released later in the year. Considering the diverse demographic that the Shrek franchise reached it is safe to assume that this series shall b for child and adult alike. The series is part of a massive deal that Netflix signed with DreamWorks for three new shows.
