'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' Speculations, Rumours and Release Date: 2nd Sequel Confirmed 

Following the Marvel blockbuster hit "Guardians of The Galaxy," which earned over $650 million worldwide as of October, a sequel has been announced during the recent San Diego Comic-Con.

James Gunn, the writer and director of the blockbuster film, announced the sequel during the convention and declared July 28, 2017 as the official release date. Gunn will also be returning as the director and writer of the sequel. Other films of the director include the popular zombie flick, Dawn of the Dead back in 2004. Gunn is also a writer in the video game Lollipop Chainsaw which released back in 2012.

The movie stars Chris Pratt, who got fit for the role, as Star-Lord. Pratt is also known for his television role in Parks and Recreation and the recent The Lego Movie voicing as the lead character Emmet. Joining alongside Chris Pratt is Zoe Saldana as Gamora. The female lead character is also known for his role in another blockbuster film Avatar, in which she played as Neytiri. Another heavy star included in the Guardians of the Galaxy roster is Dave Bautista or also known as Batista in the WWE world. Batista played Drax the Destroyer. Another interesting cast is Vin Diesel who played the iconic Groot. The character is famous for his only line in the movie, "I am Groot".

The said "Guardians of the Galaxy" sequel will focus on the Thanos storyline. Characters like The Collector and even Star-Lord's father, whose identity is still unknown to fans, will be given more emphasis. Gunn also confirmed that more female characters will be involved in the sequel, but he also quickly dismissed the rumors of a Ms. Marvel introduction in the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel in 2017.
