Super Smash Bros. for 3DS: One of the System’s Best-Selling Games,3 million Sold Copies Globally
Together with the announcement of a release date for the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros today, Nintendo also reveals a sales update for the 3DS reiteration.
To date, Super Smash Bros has made almost 3 million sold copies globally. This includes the physical as well as digital unites sold in Japan, America, and Europe, which accepted the game’s arrival on October 3. Sales at this point position Super Smash Bros for 3DS one of the system’s best-selling games.
Meanwhile, the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros will be released and bound to hit the market this November 21 and December 5 in North America and in Europe, respectively.
In line with this, a report in Gamespot sanctioned that the first batch of amiibo toy figures will also touch the market when the Wii U version of the Super Smash Bros launches this coming month. They are more than just something nice to look at for collectors, since they will interact with Smash Bros. The amiibo toy figures will allow the players to customize fighters and them save them on software embedded in the figure. The toys will be sold at $13 each. Twelve will be part of the first batch, whereas the second batch will contain six additional toys this December. To have a glimpse on the amiibo toy figures, watch this video on youtube.
The amiibo toys to be released can work together wirelessly with compatible games such as Super Smash Bros. Super Smash Bros is the first game compatible with the amiibo. However, Nintendo will also work with Mario Kart 8, Mario Party 10, and also Yoshi’s Wolly World. Players can simply tap amiibo onto the console’s controller to activate using the Wii U Gamepad’s NFC technology.
The latest 3DS has a built-in NFC technology feature. Nonetheless, Nintendo is also planning to sell an adapter for the existing 3DS so that amiibo toys would also work with the portable.
For the amiibo November release, toys include Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby, and Marth. Consequently, the remaining six - Zelda, Diidy Kong, Luigi, Little Mac, Pit, and Captain Falcon – will be released in December.
