Without a doubt, the Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S5 are two of the most popular smartphones currently available in the market. Obviously, both smartphones belong to the two most popular brands. When it comes to display, for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple has updated its Retina display to Retina HD, Which delivers higher contrast and better color reproduction.
The iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch display, its resolution is relatively low at 1334×750 - the same 326 PPI as the iPhone 5S. Whereas, The Samsung S5 has 5.1 in (129.54mm) display, with 1920 X 1080 - pixel resolution and pixel density of 432ppi.
In terms of hardware and OS, Samsung Galaxy S5 is powered by the 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 CPU paired with 3GB of RAM while the iPhone 6 has Apple's new processor, the 64bit A8. iPhone 6 is powered bythe 1.4GHz dual core which is highly optimised and iOS 8 as the operating system.
For the battery, the iPhone 6 has a 1,810mAh battery in it. Samsung has used a huge 2,800mAh battery in the S5. The interesting news is the S5 has a replaceable battery and at a low-power mode it changes into black&white interface and thus make it last even longer.
The camera of the iPhone 6 has an 8 megapixel resolution and it shoots video at Full HD resolutions at up to 60fps. Samsung has fitted a 16 megapixel sensor to its S5. It has a 4K video shooting mode, and has a bright standard LED flash.
As for the price, both the smartphones will be heavy for your wallet. But the feature and the brand will never let you feel that heaviness. The iPhone 6 is relatively expensive at £539 for the 16GB version, and it will cost for £699 for the 128GB version. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S5 SIM-free will cost for around £430.
Both phones are very good and have their own pros and cons. The better smartphone for you depends on your specific requirements.
