"Days of Our Lives" actor Freddie Smith and his girlfriend were injured after his car lost control on the bend and flipped over in Northeast Ohio crash on Tuesday near the Ashtabula, which is roughly fifty-five miles Cleveland's northeast.
Smith, who plays the character of gay Sonny Kiriakis in "Days Of Our Lives," has sustained minor injuries. But since his car has flipped over, it leaves his girlfriend, Alyssa Tabit, trapped inside the car. Emergency rescuers found her and immediately flown her to the hospital. Due to her critical injuries, she was airlifted to the Youngstown hospital.
Troopers said that vehicle speed and alcohol are the possible factors of the car crash. Based on the statement of the 26-year-old actor, he failed to safely handle a left curve and did not manage to control his car. The car crossed the centerline and then travelled off the other side of the road and strike a culvert. After that, the car flipped over.
The hospital could not provide an update on the real condition of Tabit on Wednesday. Tabit is also known for her roles in "Addicts Anonymous", "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant", and "The Client List."
"Day of Our Lives" star Molly Burnett took to Facebook on Tuesday to share that she just talked with Smith and they said that they are okay. She also added that they were involved in a serious car crash last night, but due to the quick response, they receive quick medical help.
Freddie Smith was released from the hospital while her girlfriend will undergo a surgery for several hours. According to the source, Tabit was cognitive pre-surgery and her tests are perfect.
Both families of Smith and Tabit are on the rush when they knew the accident and were glad that they were in best hands, according to Daily Entertainment News.
Currently, Tabit is recovering while Smith is now ready for filming of "Day of Our Lives."
