Samsung Galaxy Mega 2, Now in Asian Markets, Mega 2 Release Date, Specs, Features, and Price
Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 is currently sold in Thailand and Malaysia. Based on the ones sold in the two Asian markets, here is what we know about the new Mega 2. The official release dates for the US and Europe are yet to be announced.
The Galaxy Mega 2 in Thailand and Malaysia has a 6 inch 720 x 1280 Super AMOLED display, with a 2800mAh battery. It runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Samsung's latest Magazine UX, and supports 4G and NFC. It also comes with a 1.5GHz quad-core Exynos 4415 processor, a 1.5GB RAM, a 16GB internal storage, and a microSD slot. The Mega 2 has an 8 megapixel camera at the back and a 2.1 megapixel camera at the front. It also supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE. With its Phoneblet UX, Mega 2 supports multitasking capability.
The Mega phablets usually have other features such as Multi-Window, Air View, S-Memo, S-Voice, Ultra Power Saving Mode, the new Mega 2 may come with these features improved, and perhaps more.
Other specs and features may include 802.11n Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS, GLONASS, IR blaster, accelerometer, GPS, compass, gyroscope, light-sensor, and a proximity sensor.
As for the price, Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 costs around $400 in Malaysia and Thailand.
