Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Movie Release Date and Other Latest News; TMNT Thrives Despite of Unenthusiastic Reviews; Who is Going to Direct Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle 2?
The latest reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that was produced by Platinum Dunes was able to get past the overwhelming negative reviews and critiques over the movie's creative direction-having able to take in about $65 million on its opening weekend. Even more surprising was the fact that it was able to overtake hit Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy at the box office by a significant margin.
Considering all that, it should not be that surprising now that Paramount just recently announced a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 movie with a definite release date. According to a report by Variety, following the massive hit that TMNT was able to achieve among movie-goers, the movie producers had announced that the much awaited movie sequel-for fans, at least-is set to premiere on June 3, 2016. Once again, the movie is going to be produced by Platinum Dunes along with screenwriters Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum.
Saying that, it seems like in spite of the backlash and much criticizing on the reboot, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 still wins this time, what with it being the movie that ranks fourth highest in an August opening in the entire history of August openings.
The question that remains unanswered now is who will direct the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 movie. Although most of the crew has already been announced, director Jonathan Liebesman was not mentioned.
